‘To Do’ List: Get a Mammogram

About a year ago, I re-connected with several college sorority sisters through FaceBook.   I have enjoyed our quick chats and catch-ups that try to recount 25 years in just a few short sentences.

I joined the ‘Praying for Tracie Shelby and her Fight Against Breast Cancer’ FaceBook page and have had her on my prayer list for about a year. Tracie and I pledged KAΘ at Baylor University in the spring of 1981.  Although Tracie and I weren’t BFFs, we will forever be connected through our strong Θ bond.    So recently, when Tracie was named the ‘Honorary Survivor for the 2009 Susan G Komen 19th Annual Race for the Cure’ in Greater Nashville, I was so excited for her and her family.

I am reminded that God does hear and answer our prayers.   I am also reminded to schedule my annual mammogram and would like to remind you to, too.

Congratulations Tracie,  God is Good!

Tracie is second row from the top, smack dab in the middle wearing a white shirt.  I’m over on the right, middle row.  I would love for all the rest of you sisters to leave a post i.d.- ing yourself!

Special thanks to Harriet Vaughan, Reporter, THE TENNESSEAN, for allowing me to share her video on Tracie and to Laura Black Shepard for coordinating it all.
