I’m with the Band

The Last Stand Jacket was fun to design.  It was a “what if George A. Custer” crossed with “deconstruction” at the Battle of Little Big Horn, but was given the orders to “play nice,  be free”.

Well, what came out of that creative process was Double D Ranch’s ‘Last Stand Jacket’.  A funky mix of vintage, militaria inspiration, mis-matched military buttons (as if you had to do a quick mend on the battlefield), patriotic musings (In God We Trust), and exaggerated mending stitches all melded to give this jacket automatic backstage entre´.

The ‘Last Stand Tee’ has all the same great styling and as well as its own “I’m with the band” clout.  Both are really fun, would you agree?

btw:

While I’m on military styling, there is a superb military auction starting tomorrow.  If you are a collector or a lover of militaria (I am) be sure to check out Cowan’s 2009 Firearm & Militaria Auction starting this Wednesday thru Thursday.  I’ll be watching lot #65, a shell jacket worn at the battle of Gettysburg by soldier, Henry H. Stone.  This wonderful piece of  our American history has survived five battle engagements, including a battle wound, and comes with impeccable documentation and war weary history.  It is estimated to fetch somewhere between $40,000 to $50,000.   At that price, I will most definitely be  “watching” and keeping my paddle down!
