INTRODUCING: Fall 2012 Call of the Wild

Posted on 08 August 2012

Starting a new collection is always exciting. A fresh start and somewhere to put some of the ideas that have been brewing. There's a balance of what the "Fashion Gurus" say and what works for our customers. But that's also where I get to be creative with what I'm seeing is being predicted; which trends do I relate to and fit Double D? . . We've got lots of tradition here at Double D Ranch. From family, to faith, to fashion specific pieces that have carry-over from collection to collection. . . .. . . . You can always count on some crosses or a good 'ole tough biker jacket, I love hearing from you all about what you're wearing and combining those thoughts with style trends. . That idea is at the center of this collection. I stuck with what we know (leather, faith, lace, silhouettes, fur, prints) and spun all that into what I was seeing for Fall 2012: lots of animalistic and outdoor living inspiration...and plaid!

. . . . >

We never skimp on the details, but every inch in this collection right down to the stag buttons, is special. .

. . I touched on DDR tradition, but for Fall 2012 we've got one major change in that this collection is purposely divided into 4 separate looks. Which means two things: we've ended up with 4 representations of what I'm calling "Call of the Wild" and I had to design 4 entirely different collections last winter! . Take a first look at Call to the Wild: Wild Frontier - Think lumberjack. . . Wild Things - Think Hunger Games. . . Wild About Gold - Think glitzy metallic. . Western Noir - Think dark, biker.

. I'll break down and get more in depth with these 4 looks over the next couple of months to get into the specific inspiration as well as the different color schemes that help fit the mood of each look. I've got plenty of stories about garment names or why have a jacket with reinforced elbow patches. Oh and lots of vintage patches! . First up: Wild Frontier! . .

I always love your “inspiration” posts and hearing how you came up with each line and piece. This fall is as gorgeous and perfect as ever!
