Design History 101: Valor Jacket

A Hair Pipe is a slim, long bead made popular around 1880 in the American Indian fashion culture especially in the Great Plains region. The Ponca people used to use the stem on corn cob pipes to make earrings, breastplates, necklaces, and hair pieces worn by both men and women.
