AN AMAZING PIECE OF NATIVE AMERICAN HISTORY
American anthropologistJesse Walter Fewkes was assigned by the Bureau of American Ethnology to compile a report on the Hopi people, and he believed Hopi art would be a valuable means of studying the symbolism of the tribe. He asked their best artists to draw pictures of the kachinas spirits they believed in, and heliotype prints like these were made to accompany his report. They'd be a beautiful addition to any home!
